My controversial opinion on dogs #shorts

As a total dog lover, dogs aren't people but they're family. I don't hold my dog's life equal to my child's but I would risk my life to save my dog just like I would for my child.

Is it about one being more valuable than the other or cherishing their unique value. Why compared apple and pears. Animals are to be cherished and protected and we play a role in protecting them. We have domesticated dogs and they are totally reliant on us and we are their total world. Ever seen a depressed dog? It's a real thing. Dogs get dementia too. They really are vulnerable and dependent and we need to respect that dynamic. Those are my thoughts!

Lifelong dog lover here…I 100% agree w. you! It makes me really sad when people treat dogs like humans…for the humans and the dogs. Dogs want to be treated like dogs.

Dogs are not people, true. But Gods animals should be treated with compassion, respect, dignity, and kindness. We should protect all the fur babies. Some people get their only source of happiness from an animal on a daily basis. Just saying.

I don't have dogs but two cats. When my first child was born there were like 3 months where it was so hard for us to take care both of them and our baby and we seriously considered re-homing them in order for them to have a better environment. Lots of people said "should've thought about this before you had a baby" insinuating that we shouldn't have had a baby if we have two cats. That was just ridiculous to me. I love my cats but I don't value their lives over my childs life. Also I think the thought that I knew for those 3 months that they didnt get the quality of live they were used to and we wanted to provide for them and therefore thought of relocating them already proofs that I do care about their needs a lot.

A life is valuable. Period. I don’t have a problem with Abby saying that dogs are not people. To say that humans are more valuable than dogs just rubs me the wrong way. My dog is definitely more of a family than other blood family members ever have been for me, and I’m guessing for others too.

Humans have so much to learn from love, loyalty, trust...the list goes on. I feel for people that have not experienced the incredible love from a dog. It is such a gift.

You're right....dogs aren't people... but we have our fur children. Our children are grown and moved away. When I lost my daughter, our fur kids were so in tune with my emotions. They were there for me and helped me... and continue to help me through it more than my own family. When my daughter was going through multiple seizures, our dog let us know before she had one that it was coming on. Very valuable..They were there for me more than my family when I went through my cancer treatments last year. They knew when I was sick, when I was sad, when I needed my husband...our male dog especially, stayed right by me. I would do anything I could for my fur kids. ... I would for people as well. Not everyone is a dog person... that's no reason to give you a hard time. You're so big hearted... and it shows! Don't let people shame you... ❤

No. Dogs aren't people BUT I trust dogs more than most people AND depending on the human..I value the dog more.

My dog is not a person, but she's still my fur baby. The amount of love I have towards her is indescribable. I think it's partly because I'm on the spectrum and it's hard for me to connect with people. But, I don't think it should be controversial at all. Everyone has their own opinion.

I think a lot of people who have a dog, value THEIR dog more than a complete stranger. It's not necessarily a comparison between a random dog and a random person but rather between a dog they love and care about and have known for years, and a stranger, who they know nothing about 😊😅

Dogs are not people but I think they have the same value as people. I would never chose for a human to die over a dog but I would never chose for a dog to die over a human. I know only dog lovers will understand this

I have a dog. I love my dog. We pat her and feed her and take her to the vet when she is sick. She is still not a person.

GET YOUR DOG ON A LEASH!
Way too many stories of dogs mauling children these days.
They dont belong in public human spaces unless they are trained.
Protect children FIRST.
