You’ll notice how we didn’t get a good look at the internal coil, A dirty filter inside the air conditioning intake will allow for the fabrication of these conditions

Hey buddy Ac units shouldn’t loose refrigerant unless there is a pinhole leak.
9 times out of 10 it’s an airflow issue. Make sure you clean the evap/condenser coil

Never checked or cleaned indoor coil, never checked fan speed all of which can make it seem like the unit is low. People don’t realize and ac unit is a sealed system. It should never be low unless there is a leak. In which case you should repair it not top the charge off.

Could be a blocked filter or iced up coil, cause low suction pressure, alway check your evaporator coil, to make sure coil is clear of ice before you add change.. I see tech’s all the time adding charge to a system that’s iced up..also make sure your evaporator fan motor is working, broken belt etc..

The EPA would like to know your location.. lol

I knew you weren't one of us when I seen you have a $200 pair of raybans instead of safety glasses on at a job site. "Look cool and overcharge customers" is this dudes motto.

Did you check the evap coil and filter? Kinda reckless to add refrigerant without checking the simple stuff first.

You are adding refrigerant without truly solving the issue 🤦🏻‍♂️

Check that evap coil and filter for cleanliness. Low air flow can cause low pressure from low heat pickup.

If you’re losing coolant you have a leak that needs to be fixed

Dudes been smoking some hard drugs to be thinking hes even a refigerant engineer

Hmm I thought releasing refrigerant into the air like that was illegal 🤔

If refrigerant is gone. Check for leaks first. Inject dye. One that step is done and it looks good then charge. but make sure filter is clean as well as the condensor.

That’s an insane price for a top off. Unless there was more to the service call, I would absolutely avoid that.

I don't think this guy knows what he is doing or the way a/c systems actually work.

I love it when the local handyman/plumber fixes the AC

dirty return filter is my most common cause for a frozen coil. Lol 😆 🤣 😂

Don't let these guys scam you. Check your filter first. If you haven't changed it or have a lot of pet hair. It will also cause the coil to freeze up. Fix? Let sit for an hour or 2. Replace filter.
You don't loose freon unless there's a leak. Pay 800 every year. Nope, I'm good

In Aus youd be fined for charging a unit knowing theres a leak. Also I hope you didn't have to add much refrigerant, blends will go bad if too much refrigerant has been lost.

I keep seeing all the comments about air flow and it’s always good practice to check airflow first. But low suction pressure coupled with low super heat will tell you if there’s an airflow issue. Low pressure and high super heat indicates low charge.
