I am a beginner trader myself. I like the idea of swing trading and the potential. At the same time I need to get reps in so day trading works for that.
I ultimately will keep 2 different accounts. 1 for swing and 1 for day. Meaning that I can drop the kids off and come home and make a few day trades as well looking for swings.
Ultimately I want to have multiple ways so I can look at the charts and take my pick of which trades I want to do.

Personally I use candle patterns on swings since I use higher time frames to chart them and the same strategies for swings I don't use for day trading. I do have it combined in one account though and I will separate it when capital allows. I use trading view's scanning tool and have my sectors separated into lists. USing finviz to look at sectors as well to help as I can't chart my entire watch list, ha.
