Janice accent was a combination of British and American English..it's a common accent in india..and her way of using english with tamil nailed..her accent was a perfect south indian accent ..and this video really interested to watch!!

That chinese guy seems little closed minded and full of himself, like dude the people who don't know much english in china also have very strong accent or in that guy's own language funny accent, so i am tired of people making fun of indian accent based on their stereotypical mindset or seeing stereotypical indian accents in american shows or movies. like everywhere in the world people have different language and dialect, accent which effects when they speak in different languages like english. Like every other countries have their own accent when they speak in english especially those people who don't know much about english or they don't adapt to different languages easily. Like if you hear filipino, indonesia, thai, chinese accents especially those who are not fluent in English their accents sound so funny but people don't make fun of that how much people humiliate indian accent based on stereotypical things they see on American shows, movies or on internet. And you guys also feel ashamed or find your accent funny that's why in most east asian countries like thai, china, indonesia, philippines, korea speak in american accents, also you guys are really skilled in copying accents. And in most parts of india people do speak english normally without any heavy accent only those people have heavy accent who is not fluent in English. And in india people don't try to speak in American accent or British accent, if anyone speak in American or British accent people say oh they are faking accents. So that's why people don't try to copy american, british accent when they speak in english.

India is like learning British English from schools 🇬🇧. And using American English🇺🇸 by watching so many hollywood movies, shows etc. 😂😂
In India most people use Hinglish (Hindi+English). Other states use their native language with English so that's why accent gets changed

Here are some Indian English words and phrases I've noticed over the time.

1. In general

Prepone – Advance a scheduled event (opposite of postpone)

Only – Used for emphasis ("She is here only")

Kindly do the needful – A formal request to take necessary action

Pass out – Graduate from a school/college

Batchmate – Classmate from the same graduating year

Out of station – Away from town

Revert – Respond (commonly used in emails)

Cousin brother/sister – A cousin, with gender specified

Tiffin – Light meal or lunchbox

Mug up – Rote learning

Kindly adjust – Used to politely ask someone to tolerate inconvenience



2. At Workplace

Do one thing – Common preface to giving instructions

Updation – Process of updating

Handover – Noun for passing responsibilities or tasks

Out of coverage area – When phone has no signal

Furnish details – Provide information

Your goodself – Overly formal way to refer to someone


3. In Expressions

Myself [Name] – Self-introduction ("Myself Raj")

Passed out of college – Graduated from college

He is having – Present continuous for possession ("He is having two cars.")

Where do you stay? – Instead of "Where do you live?"

What is your good name? – Polite way of asking someone’s name


4. Food-Related Terms

Hotel – Can mean restaurant, not just lodging

Canteen – A small food outlet (especially in schools, offices)

Veg / Non-veg – Vegetarian or non-vegetarian food


5. Academic / Educational Terms

First class / Distinction – Grade divisions

Backlog – Failed subject to be re-attempted

Paper correction – Grading exams

Write exam – Take an exam


6. Transport & Daily Life

Two-wheeler / Four-wheeler – Motorbike / Car

Petrol pump – Gas station

Line man / Conductor – Bus-related job titles

Traffic police – Cops managing traffic (used often)

Auto / Auto-rickshaw – Three-wheeled transport/ Tuk Tuk


7. Informal Terms

Timepass – Fun activity to kill time

Macha / Bro / Yaar / Bhai – Friend, dude

Slang – A curse/swear word

Bunk – Skip school or work

Janice really tried her best to describe Indian English words well. Most Indians generally combine native tongue with English, which has created such words I guess.

Also, India officially follows British English in academics and we do follow American culture through movies, hence Most people are comfortable listening and speaking both, and honestly cannot distinguish between them.

Also, Lakhs and Crores are indigenous terms used since centuries in India, given our relationship with Math in the subcontinent. Great video.

The English in India is mixed with Hindi or our local language.So as we speak our Hindi, we convert these letters into English letters and speak, that is why our english sounds like hindi

2:50 the accent (actual indian accent) is not funny, but stereotypical accent is made intentionally so to make fun of and also had been portrayed in the movie and shows with the prime motive to me made fun off and definitely its had succeeded as your assertion proves this
