Really excited about this video, it's been one I've been wanting to make for years, so I'm glad I've finally gotten around it doing it. In this video, I look at some of my favourite flags that I've come across over the years.




At the end of the video, I recommened the audiobook "Worth Dying For: The Power and Politics of Flags", written by Tim Marshall (author of the fantastic Prisoners of Geography). Would highly recommened both of them.

Sri Lanka: How about a lion holding a sword? That sounds easy.

3:28 Actually, that's almost correct. The flag of Saudi Arabia has "different" obverse and reverse sides as well, but that's only to make sure that on both sides, the inscription and the sword both point to the left, in the direction of the Arabic script.
