Some time ago my neighbour introduced me to the poetry of John Masefield (Poet Laureate from 1930-67). His poem "Sea-fever" generally creates an atmosphere of wanderlust and excitement for returning to the sea but I was struck by the imagery of "grey mists" and loneliness to which this composition is something of a response.

Since this thursday, july 8th, and the discover of "Through the Grey Mists" which inspired me and moved so much, I was looking forward to listen it again. It is such sweetness...
To me, I like to imagine this sweet piece would tell about the life of two people who love each other, we could see memories of their life scroll in pictures, in the way of old movies of Chaplin, without words, just the music to go with... And it could be end off with these two old lovers or friends, sitting on a bench facing the sea and a beautiful sunset... - even if there is "grey" and "mists" in the title, haha !! 🤗

Oooh, I'll think about it for the grandparents' wedding anniversary, Luke ! Your music could accompagny their slideshow :) It would be great !
