To confirm if a colorless liquid is pure water, you can test it by: 

 



Boiling point: Pure water boils at 100°C (373 K) at 1 atmospheric pressure. If the liquid boils at a different temperature, it's not pure water. 

 


Freezing point: Pure water freezes at 0°C (273 K) at 1 atmospheric pressure. 

 


Filter paper: Filter the liquid through a fine filter paper. If no residue is left on the filter paper, the liquid is pure water. 

Pure water is colorless and tasteless because it doesn't contain any impurities like minerals or salts.
