My Summer With The New Apple Reminders App

Let’s take a look at the new Reminders app that is a part of iOS 13 and iPadOS. I’m really excited for this update. I’ll be doing a big iPadOS walkthrough when that comes out later

Dude your videos are just STUPID levels of good. I don’t even have anything in my life that I ever need to add to reminders, but I still felt psyched watching this video lol. The fact that your videos are based around using your ipad, it just makes them more fun to watch.

I have switched from Things 3 to the new iOS reminders app. I am not a power user that can use siri shortcuts or create Siri shortcuts. Found reminders to fill my needs sinilarly as Things does.

When I use natural language, it does suggest me the time and date, but when I tap on it, the text in blue stays in the reminder and I don’t like it 😢

Also need a way to backup Notes and Reminders - a very good backup system. Something similar to Google Docs (versions)... so nice to have previous edits saved and revert to option.

While I've had iPadOS since Public Beta 1 I haven't used the reminders app until last week. I love the update. Thanks for the video!

There’s far too many button presses to move a reminder from list to list on the iPhone app. It should be an option via swiping left or right on the reminder.

I love the concept of this video. I bet I wouldn’t find another video reviewing the reminders app. So props to you for thinking out of the box! Subscribed!
As for the changes, I see how much more functionality iOS 13 has added to reminders, but I’m very simple in the way I use reminders, even though I use the app pretty much everyday. So the new app feels a bit too complex for me. I do, however, like the feature where it reminds you while you’re texting the associated person. I think that’s an amazing feature.

Hi, I use my iPad as my laptop. Are you able to create a reminder from the mail app? For example I receive an invoice via email and would like to set a reminder from that message so the reminder shows me the invoice on the specific due date.

I wanted to switch to it so bad, but it drove me insane that on som devices, the reminders dont go away until you change lists. While on other devices they go away when completed. It just annoyed the heck out of me. The horrible icons and non ability to use emoji’s also made it look less than desirable.

Totally agree with you regarding the sub tasks, I don’t use them either as they don’t appear in Today 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve been using Fantastical as it aggregates calendar events and reminders. I’m very interested to see this update on the Reminder App. Thanks for that and I look forward to having the official iOS 13 iPadOS and WatchOS6... By the way, where is your Watch? Cheers Chris

Can the app send a "daily summer" similar to Todoist? Need a summary of all notes / reminder sent at any given time

It’s ironic that you are constantly showing the Apple Pencil in the video but not using it with the app. Do you wish this would change? How do you see the Apple Pencil integrated into the app other than for tapping or scrolling?
