this is awesome. during our traditional ID program, we were required to take a marketing elective. unfortunately, most of my peers were not qualified with the course pre-reqs to take the classes I thought were the most valuable. Most ended up taking Advertising, but I believed the best classes would have been Digital Marketing (most of what Nathan explains is very similar to what I learned in that class), and Market Research- the techniques and statistic analysis it takes to glean insight into the consumer sphere.

Jacob, please check out all Chris Do's videos (on The Futur channel) on selling... The guy is a sales genius. His techniques have helped me to close deals for the company I work for even though I'm not even in the sales department. (I am not affiliated with him, btw...)

Love that you post your adventures online. Two critical issues I think you've haven't given enough thought to.(I might be wrong)
First issue, uni is really there to get you to make design mistakes early on in your process and give you the freedom to mess up a couple of times. (Marks are not $100, 000 contracts) The more you push the boundaries of your design ability the more you will learn that early fails within your process makes it easier to achieve your design solution quicker.
Secondly, a design consultancy is really based on your experience in the field. You have learned from your pass failures so that they don't have to. Otherwise you will charge clients your process of figuring out where the failures are and how to navigate around them.

Some sage advice, rather be a freelance Industrial Designer and use the projects as tools to teach others online. My students and I love your 20 hour challenge videos and your univ vlogs as it gave a honest reflection of being a Industrial Design Student. Good luck

I like the idea however usually a Consultant is someone with lots of experience and knowledge. I don't think you have the requirements yet and have lots to learn yourself
