He tends to stare down recievers but yeah he reads more than one when he gets the chance. The issue is he doesn't read defenses and coverages. He will get better but coming from a QB like Tua with the best anticipation I've ever seen, to Mac who was the epitome of consistency, to Bryce who was exceptional at reading defenses and knew exactly what what going on at all times it just makes Jalens inconsistency or lack of reading defenses stand out more. His arm is there and none of those guys were as fast as him, it's just tradeoffs. He will get better and already has in alot of ways.

He does read the field but most throws I feel like he feels like he can’t make so he just try’s to hold the ball a bit so someone can get open. His problem is throwing receivers open

Jalen reads the field. I hate when people say he doesn’t. He does. His issue is he can be slow going throw his reads. This can and will improve with reps. Milroe is a developing quarterback. Only going to improve as he gets more reps

what is happening with milroe now is what mac looked like when tua wnt down, sloppy, but got better with time. he can be special and with his legs, he doesent have to be as smart as mac, just fast with his reads

Just by Milroe s amazing running ability creates passing lanes for him to make them throws because they fear his legs because they know he's going to run it but they just don't know when as long as he doesn't make mistakes he's hard to stop dual threat.

Jalen has definitely improved. People that say otherwise either don't want to admit it or they just don't understand the game. He will continue to get better with reps and build chemistry.

The problem I have with Jalen is he needs more of a pocket presents as far as knowing where the pressure is coming from and not escaping into a sack. He will improve I believe. He also can out run any spy they put on him and I feel like he doesn’t play like that all the time.

Milroe is the best qb of 3 bad qbs. Texas prepped for months for Bama. Rees did not match offense to QB strengths and their defense failed to pressure an immobile ewers. Bama has not improved they just are not playing Texas. They are in danger of losing 3 games in a season. Texas pressured Milroe Ole miss thought he would just make mistakes they were wrong. Pressure the dud cause us is very slow at reading n g coverages and deciding to run. He does not make quick reads. Lsu aggies should light him up. Dropping 8 got rebs the L.

Brian, you have one of the most comprehensive and insightful analysis on YouTube. Each video is basically an eye opener for me. Its obvious that Milroe is in fact accurately reading the defense except for the interception. Also, from breaking down the offensive plays Tommy Rees is not as bad as I initially thought. I still didn't like the play call where Alabama was on the one yard line of Ole Miss and Jalen Milroe was in the shotgun. But overall I agree 100% with your analysis breakdown. Exceptional job.

I don't know about everyone else on here, but Outz is a moving TANK WITH GOOD HANDS! Milroe is developing great chemistry with him and he can block assisting Proctor.

Great athlete in the wrong system. Very slow on his reads, not everyone is good at it.

Another great breakdown. Milroe is a good QB is he going to win the Heisman this year no, but he's improving a lot of the new offense and showing lots of signs of growth. Personally I think when people see running QBs they automatically assume they can only get through one read before taking off. Its clearly not the case with Milroe, would like to see him work on that connection with his wideouts when it comes to sitting in zones and finding soft spots it seems they are not on the same page on multiple accounts.
