As part of the nation's new "rebranding," Saudi Arabia has announced plans to build a $500 billion "mega-city" on the coast of the Red Sea.

The country released a promo video depicting a very different lifestyle from what's currently available to women in the kingdom. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said the city, which will be called Neom, will have no room "for anything traditional."

The futuristic city of Neom is expected to be powered entirely by alternative energy and will be independent of the kingdom's "government framework." The city is part of Saudi Arabia's effort to diversify its mostly oil-dependent economy, attracting investors to its new vision of the future.

I made a post laughing at their 1 track mind economy, many have here on youtube for years on news posts... when oil tanked and the saudis were scrambling for funds, it was obvious time to devest from oil a lot and put some money into other eggs of the market.. not good to have all your eggs in one basket incase it drops.
