360º VR | Recovery Helicopter View - Mid Air Recovery Demo

Pretty nice touch that the 360 video is stabilized to the horizon instead of fixed to the helicopter interior.

Got to hand it to that pilot. That's skill. Camera placement, not so much.

Look at the pilot pull in more collective (left hand) starting about 1:45, you start to hear the rotor and tail rotor interact more and then he pitches over about 2:00 as he grabs the rocket, which you can also see in the other video. Very cool!

I would had expected a copilot there who observed the environment to prevent any problems, because the pilot was so focused on catching the prob.

Retropropulsion rocket landings almost look boring compared to capturing a rocket booster mid-air with a freaking helicopter! What a time to be alive!
