Aston Martin Vantage: Just how good is Aston's sport car?

Dan Prosser gets behind the wheel of the latest Aston Martin Vantage to see if this V8 sports car has the performance, ride and handling to match its highly regarded predecessor.

The baby Aston is a better all-round car than the previous model, not to mention faster and more fuel efficient, but some of the old car’s soul has been lost to the latest must-have technologies.

I like the desing its really nice even the interior the only thing lacking is the screen and infotainment, give it a 9 inch screen and a tesla/lotus like infotainment and its a winner for sure

Try Jaguar F-Type V8 SVR. It is better. 5-litre engine, supercharged, ceramic brakes, 4-wheel drive. No ugly front, no messy dashboard.
I now enjoy driving my Jag all over New Zealand; wow! I did enjoy a test drive in this Vantage, but no, the Jag is better. Having said that, the looks of the Vantage are so athletic, so sexy!!! I may get one, one day...

The AM is a brand transformed and the most exciting brand on the planet but somehow the old AM vantage was better. What a load of rubbish. When I look at the old Vantage I think the Ftype is better and that's fact.

they could have designed so it was equally muscular and menacing yet without all the fussy bits on the front, back and sides (the cutaways behind the front wheels are nothing more than a distraction, IMO). it'a a miss. and the 2017 vantage had 463hp while this one has 503hp. i wouldn't call that 'massively more'. the 2017 has about 92% of the horse power of the new one.

the alcantara, especially on the steering wheel will get greasy. in fact the nap will get crushed and look old wherever it comes in contact with anything for any length of time. why? it looks like cheap imitation suede.

Front reminds me of something from Tesla and that's not a compliment. Mercedes heart and interior. Prior gen was much better
