Hitler’s House was the seat of power of the Third Reich. Here Hitler met dignitaries from around the world, including representatives from the Allies. The Berghof was more than a place of politics, it housed the private family of Adolf Hitler and his wife Eva Hitler (Braun). It was where children played and parties where held. To prevent the site becoming a shrine to National Socialism, it was destroyed to the foundations. What does the Berghof look like today? In the 70’s I climbed up into what was left of the Berghoff garage. I think it has since been demolished like the house.

Great video, i visited last October and with a little research before arriving i managed to find the Berghof site, the coal bunkers, visit the Hotel Zum Turken and the tunnels beneath.Also visited the documentation centre and found the Mooslahnerkopf Teehaus site after a beautiful walk from the Berghof area An experience i shall remember for all time.Such an important and interesting subject.

There was noway in the construction of the house to do that. As the window was 4 meters high and 7 meters wide…

It would be so cool to be able to visit it and see it as it was, totally intact. I wish I could have a time machine, not to make me rich, but just to visit the past. I'd spend my entire life visiting and living in the past. LOL
I mean, on the first, that sounds kinda funny, but when I think about it... The fact I'm not able to visit so many historical places, to enjoy in their full glory, actually makes me sad.

They should build a large platform up there to reproduce the amazing views, also open the tunnels that lead up to that point

You can access and tour the bunker system from Hotel Zum Turken as we did in June of 2019

The big window you refer to that was in the center of the main house was, in German, ‘’versenkbar, ”. This means capable of being lowered. So the window would effectively disappear into the bottom part of the frame when it was desired to open the room to the air.

As our unit was the first to take control of the Berghof we helped ourselves to silverware (AH on handles), personal photobooks, tablecloths, a few guns, clothes, cufflinks, many other items but the booze was all consumed then and there.

The " 1936 " numerals in brass at the Kehlsteinhaus were meant to indicate the beginning of construction, and not the year of presentation of 1939 ( for Hitler's 50th birthday) ?

That relic just looks like a lump of concrete with reinforced bars coming out of it, all exterior finishes were of stone even the cappings, it’s clear from videos and photos if you know what your looking for
