Lyrics:

[Verse 1: Everlast]
Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin
I came to win, battle me that's a sin
I won't ever slack up, punk you better back up
Try and play the role and yo the whole crew'll act up
Get up, stand up (c'mon!) c'mon throw your hands up
If you've got the feeling, jump up, touch the ceiling
Muggs lets the funk flow, someone's talking junk
Yo I bust him in the eye, and then I'll take the punk's ho
Feelin, funkin, amps in the trunk and I got more rhymes
Than there's cops at a Dunkin' Donuts shop
Sho' nuff, I got props
From the kids on the Hill plus my mom and my pops
I came to get down, I came to get down
So get out your seat and jump around!

[Hook]
Jump around! Jump around! Jump around!
Jump up, jump up and get down!
Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!

[Verse 2]
I'll serve your ass like John McEnroe
If your girl steps up, I'm smacking the ho
Word to your moms, I came to drop bombs
I got more rhymes than the Bible's got Psalms
And just like the Prodigal Son I've returned
Anyone stepping to me you'll get burned
Cause I got lyrics, but you ain't got none
If you come to battle bring a shotgun!
But if you do you're a fool, cause I duel, to the death
Trying to step to me, you'll take your last breath
I got the skills, come get your fill
Cause when I shoot the gift, I shoot to kill
I came to get down, I came to get down
So get out your seat and jump around!

[Hook]

[Verse 3: Pete Rock]
Listen to the sound that pounds, I jump around
I'm no clown, I get down
To the funk, listen to the wig out
And step to the rear, dear, cause I'm here
The P to the E to the T E rockin'
The runs in your stockin'
So hon, put the lock in
Chillin' with the House Of Pain
Blood stains the ground
Huh, I jump around

[Everlast]
I'm the cream of the crop, I rise to the top
I never eat a pig, cause a pig is a cop
Or better yet a Terminator, like Arnold Schwarzenegger
Try to play me out like, as if my name was Sega
But I ain't going out like no punk bitch
Get used to one style and yo and I might switch
It up up and around, then buck buck you down
Put out your head and then you wake up in the Dawn of the Dead
I'm coming to get ya, I'm coming to get ya
Spitting out lyrics, homie I'll wet ya
I came to get down, I came to get down
So get out your seat and jump around!

[Hook]

[Outro]
Jump (32x)

Only the people who lived through this era can understand how much we looked forward to ANY remix we found out Pete Rock was doing. He was the KING of the remix for a good minute. He took that title from Marley Marl.

there's plenty of terrible remixes remakes and covers of this one iconic song, but this is the only remix version that matters. proof everything pete rock touched in the 90s was worth its weight in gold

Easily one of the greatest remixes EVER.

I always liked this version way better than the original. I remember MTV played the PR remix video once or twice when it first dropped, but then they never played it again. Only the original. Pete Rock is extraordinary!!

And let's not forget that Pete was the first dj to rap on his own remixes... It was his way of tagging his beats!

I was 20 going on 21 years old in 1992 when this came out.

If you werent in your 20s in the 1990s Hiphop Club Scene, then you won't understand the full experience feeling of when this song came on in the club at that time,

simply because you were to young to be there.

You can only hear it on the Radio, but it was the CLUB SCENE where you felt the ENERGY & the FUN of the SONG the most

I spent countless hours playing NBA Street V3 when I was younger, this was my favorite song on the entire game.
