Rules at my school.

-no 2 hands
-no carry’s
- you have to serve on the outside of the serving square
- you can team with only 2 people
- outside line counts as in

Here’s the rules that I used before retiring
1-No two hands on the ball or foul play
Aka don’t hold the ball for more than a 5th of a millisecond or foul play
2-don’t go into the others square or out
3-you can spin the ball
4-strikes are allowed
There was also 9 square when I was playing it was the same rules but it was way more difficult than4 square😅

6- let it hit your square even if it’s on the edge of your square your out if it’s flying out of the square you can save it that’s fine

in middle school they had changed the rules too. We just do behind the backs and special moves. That’s the only rules we changed still let it bounce once in our square lol.
