Nathan, Thank you for your guidance. I just started playing 6 months ago. This past month I came in second twice and actually won last night!!! Trying to follow all of your suggestions. Small game 10 people. Amelia

With regards to hand selection: this is good advice if you are only playing tournaments. If you play cash games, the method has moved *way* beyond this. If your range is this tight in cash gaming, people will peg you for a nit and you will never get any action.

This strategy only works in low level games with mostly amateurs. Really good players will torture you if this is your range. My opinion is to never play 22, or 33, 44, 55, unless I'm in the bb with no raise, or I have these hands in the cutoff or the button. Position position position, good luck everyone

I dont agree with the betting for value holding 1010 on a Q 8 4 K 2 board with 2 hearts. In a typical game with some regs and rec players only a better hand will call a river bet, checking the river allows your opp a great chance at bluffing with missed draws and airballs. again these situations are player dependant type but most regs are not calling unless they can beat 1010 there..

Another great video! Thanks, Nathan!! I also learned to fold when behind on the turn if my opponent makes a big enough bet to make it not worth taking the chance. Some players bet too low to get out the draws. Say there is $125 in the pot, the opponent bets $10, in this case I will call with any and every draw, but, if they bet $60, I am out with any draw. A lot of players don't know how to bet properly.

Yesterday on a 2/5 table with J, 8, 6 on the board, I'm in position against another guy who goes All In. I am holding K, K. He went all in with 4, 2. That's right, 4, 2. And here's what came on the turn and river: 5 and 3. It boggles the mind. Everyone at the table, including the dealer were in disbelief. I was in disbelief and $1, 000 poorer.

I need to make a poker channel. I actually am living off poker rn playing and everyday I make enough to buy another motel room for the night. When my bankroll is under $1000 I am living in my car again. But let me tell you. I make about $5000/mo and have no job but Uber for when I bust

The tighter your range is the higer your relativ stadard deviation will be! For example if you playing a range having an (average) VPIP of 16% then you will playng 16 hands out of 100 in average. If we approximate our hand distribution by assuming its poisson distributed we can calculat the standard deviation as SD=sqrt(16)=4 this would correspond to a relativ standard deviation of 4/16=0.25=25%. Playing a range with expected VPIP of 16% will results in a VPIP between 12-20% out of 68% of 100 hand sesions. Loosely speaking
VPIP=12-20% (68% of the time)
VPIP=8-24% (95% of the time)
VPIP=4-28% (99% of the time)

I usually play a looser range than this when it comes to 6-max, just betting big pre in early positions with playable hands
