how to Fix Makita 18V Battery LiPo Not Charging Repair BL1830. Jump starting the battery with a different charger. Force charging lithium ion batteries that the Makita charger wont charge due to low voltage.

Praise God. My makita battery does not charge and 0 volts already for few months. Today, I jump start it by connecting a 20 volt well battery (same type of voltage) to the positive ang negative side of the damage battery. In just 2 minutes it becomes too hot and i stop it (pls stop if hotter-i did it with opened casing), then check the voltage of 4 volts. I let it cool and I charge it but it doesnt charge. I did it again in front of a fan for 1.5 minutes (It becomes hot then i stop it before its realy hot). I let it cool and voltage is about 8volts. I charge it and praise God it charges slowly up to full charge for some time. Thank you Lord. I ordered a makita 5-battery pcb board, but i cancelled it. Wow praise. I really want to take video to help others but i did not expect it will work. Just be careful in repairing. Pray always.😊

Excellent info. I found this video last night and dug out my old HobbyKing HKC-6 charger, hooked it up to a Makita battery that had arrived with only 1.5V in it and brought it up to 12V before shoving it on the Mak charger, which immediately accepted it.
Time will tell if the battery suffered any damage from being so low.

Tried it. Does not work. Obviously, as there is a PCB protection to mark a battery as "damaged", which cannot be reveresed by just charging it with another charger

You didn't 'fix' anything. You just overcharged the good cells to make up for failed cells inside the pack. This is a great way to start a fire.

I got 3 packs that wont charge now. I even changed all the cells in one and topped them all up and Makita charger still wont look at it.
Now my big pack is attempting to charge and it also faults after a few seconds.
Pretty sure its my charger wrecking the PC boards in the batteries somehow.

when only flashes red it is because the battery is too hot and not a battery error.
When it flashes red and green, show it on a battery error

The makita battery is a Li-ion battery not a NiMH battery, but why you used NiHM mode to change it?

Can you make the same video without so many breaks in it. So we can see it's the same battery all the way through please. If this does work, then great. I'll buy myself one of those chargers

There are several suggestions for fixing a car battery
do not attempt to do this unless you know what you are doing - the acid can burn you
Test the voltage first - there may be a kaput cell which would waste your time.
Check the battery fluid.
attempt to fully charge the battery.
