Brexit minister resignation latest blow to Johnson’s leadership

Amid a by-election disaster, a rebellion and a series of scandals, Boris Johnson has suffered another blow to his leadership, as it emerged the minister in charge of Brexit is resigning from the Cabinet.

Lord Frost had become increasingly unhappy over the direction of government policy, especially tax rises and Covid restrictions.

Liz Truss has just been named to take over his role.

Frost was made a Lord so he could become an unelected member of the government with one role - to tie up the loose ends of Brexit. Frost as an unelected member of cabinet has NO right or authority over any other subject other than his assigned task - Brexit Minister. For Frost to state other “policy” issues for his resignation are totally false as he is an UNELECTED minister with the sole task of Brexit.
