Got a 60th annv. `60 VOS V2 tomato soup burst. Awesome axe. Very few needs to make it play better. One of course changing to your preferred brand and gauge of strings. Next is maybe the back of the neck. I may remove some of the gloss finish and lightly sand it to a satin feel. Personal preferrence. Other than that its setup from the get-go.

Can anyone tell me how this tone compares to the r9 2012 with custom buckers. I don’t know what glues they used at that time.

The Anniversary model can never be like the original. The reason is that the original were built by a luthier who had flatulence problems. It is believed that the gases that he released are a key ingredient to explain the un fathomable, mystifying tone of the original 1959 Les Pauls
