Just to vent to my vegan community: I came across a video from a channel that I followed for personal growth and inspiration but they have branched into health topics. They had a video about being young fit and healthy forever. The "doctor" was quoted early on saying that you have to eat a ridiculous amount on a plant based diet and compared quinoa and chicken breast. I don't know if we are ever going to properly educate the majority of people because of these propagated misconceptions. When I'm talking about plant based diets My parents still throw in "there are some things missing" it's like the information can't get past previous biases.

I don't particularly want to live forever.
But as long as I'm healthy, I won't want to die. So that kind of follows.

Read the book. Anxiously awaiting “How not to age” from Dr Greger

I don't know why but I found you very endearing in this video. You would make such a good professor, the way you talk and make complicated subject matter much easier to understand and digest. And you make it interesting with humor and a lightness about you. Glad people like you exist in the world.

Mike's outstanding in breaking down broad matters involving overwhelming research to it's key points that everyone can understand and digest

I love how you spend hours and hours reviewing all these studies and then you're nice enough to thank us for watching less than a 30 minute video. I have listened to a few of David Sinclair's videos. Great constructive criticism and review of his points.

That's a pile of research, Mic. Thank you for doing it so we don't have to (also, I didn't know that I didn't know half of this).

So excited to see this vid, Mic. I had a friend buy me Sinclair's book, Lifespan. Such a wonderful read. Look forward to hearing what you have to say!!

I learned a lot as always! Thank you for all of your hard work over the years Mic. All of your nutritional science has really helped me shut down all of the annoying criticisms of my diet and lifestyle that meat heads throw at me, and I've even changed a few minds: all thanks to your information! Keep up the hard work my friend!

Thanks for your thoughtful, well researched videos, Mic. While I'm not yet totally plant-based, it's content like this that encourages me to keep plugging away.

Thanks for doing this video Mic. Grateful for all your research. I agree, staying away from drugs for longer life and being on a meatless whole foods diet is the magic pill for a longer lifestyle. I started a healthy lifestyle at 20 with meatless diet and mountain biking for over 35 years/ being 65 now with a BMI of 21 and a BP of 110/65 and resting HR of 47. And living longer now than most of my my grandparents who died of strokes and heart disease. Except for one grandmother who lived to be 98 because she also lived a healthy low meat lifestyle. I can truly testify that the lifestyle you have researched is truly the path to take. I look forward to many more years because of it. And I encourage anyone who wants to stay healthy and off of debilitating drugs and heart surgery when you get older to follow the lifestyle Mic has given us completely. And as to NAD and Sirtuins are stimulated form Sulpherphane found in high levels from broccoli and kale. I put a lot in my smoothies every morning.

Wow... Metformin also has been shown to increase dementia when taking long term. So longer life, but at what cost...

Great video. Very thought-provoking especially about metformin. I would love to see a study on longevity on people who eat a WFPB diet comparing those who took metformin and those who didn't. I am waiting for those results before starting to take metformin myself as I am not diabetic.

So glad to see that ur channel has grown quite a bit! I remember how, 3 years ago, it had way too little attention for how good the info already had been. Keep spreading the truth brother, cuz you’re changing the world for the better.
