Glad to see these guides are back. I have moved on from Mini emulations to mini computers, but using these as emulation station is a very nice option

When you added the NES games, you forgot to mention the "right click -> assign the core" step.

Thanks a lot I did this in September 2024 and it worked perfectly!

There are also cool mods you can do in Hakchi like having custom pics of the consoles with the games alphabetized in folders when you have a ton of games on your mini system. That's how I roll with mine. Great tutorial man!

I did everything you explained. I installed the most recent version of hakchi CE v3.9.3. I clicked on install and repair. Once the instructions popped up to plug the Snes mini in using USB, hold the reset button, turn power on and it keeps popping up with an error message. It won't detect my Snes mini. I'm using the USB cord that came with the system and everything. I tried re doing it several times, and it still won't go past the hooking up the mini while holding reset. It keeps giving me an error message. Has anybody been able to figure out how to get it to connect that had a red error message while holding reset and plugging it in? The snes mini just has the solid red light on system while I hold the reset button. It keeps saying can't open device on the error message. How do I fix this to get my snes mini device to connect?

Nice to see that the process hasn't changed over the years. How advanced are you going with these updated videos? Dual booting the NES and SNES firmware? Still have my NES Classic set up that way.

Can't get to work, I tried exactly as described but I'm not getting a green circle to add more games 😢

Ive moded my snes years ago with hakchi ver. 2.32

Now I want to add NES and GB games, and the current hakchi ver. Is 3.9.3.
Should I restore my snes mini to factory settings for a fresh start?

Does the cable that originally came with the snes mini not work? Takes forever to reload and then it gives me a firewall message, im lost

I did the flash reset and now my unit is unresponsive... Shows red light, but nothing happens when I turned it on. It was working until this and now it's doesn't work...

Haven't modded my snesc since before my kids were born three years ago. I install the new patches and it breaks all my PAL, SFC, and heavier games like Street fighter alpha.
I did so much work polishing the damn kernel and here I am, relearning all this stuff again 😂

When you have say 4 folders on your menu screen, the screen will 'jump' when you move to the last spot and shift suddenly. It is jarring visually and worsens the menu navigation experience. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.

I dunno if you can help me. I always get the “your mini is taking too long to reboot” message every time I try to either flash the kernel, factory reset, flash a custom kernel, pretty much anything that involves flashing the kernel I get this error. I can’t even factory reset my console because I get this error. I used a program called USBDeview to check my cable’s connection and it works just fine.

I did hack my SNES mini maybe 2 years ago and it worked fine, but now anytime I try to do anything I get the error.

My system still works. I can play the original 21 games packed with it no problem. Save states work, everything seems to function normally. I did manage to uninstall Hakchi about a month ago so I don’t see the logo when I boot the system anymore.

Lastly, I did try to use an old version of Hakchi, version 1.21 I think it was. That’s how I managed to uninstall the mod, but I was never able to reflash the kernel using it.

I’m at a loss here. Any help would be appreciated.
