Palestinians ARE being oppressed and killed. She is a civil rights activist that stands up for the downtrodden - what to hell is wrong with this world? Good for her for standing up. Who gives a hell if they take back their award - the people around the world know she is an honorable and outstanding person. She does not need some award from narrow minded people strong Angela Davis!

Are you sure this isn't the Jewish Civil Rights Institute to honor Blacks they deem worthy?

Keep resigning as far as I'm concern they don't come when you need them unless it's a high profile case. Smdh! Keep up the great work Roland & Crew ✊🏾

That's what happens when you have people on your board of directors that are unfamiliar with the compass of the black community.

Angela is a living legend. She fought for the rights of Black people as well as other disenfranchised people. She is a living piece of American history that so many unfortunately lack knowledge of. She deserves recognition!

Somebody said they would pull funding if they honored her. That is all. With Trumps tax rollbacks on charitable giving non profits are eve more beholden to their donors. It doesn’t matter the reason. What matters is the money.

I Remember reading her autobiography and it gave me pride and strength. I don't have that anymore because time has taken away Black Upward Mobility and the Great Men and Women that drove us. Angela Davis should be celebrated and acknowledged. I'm Blessed to have had parents that grew up during that time and privileged to have libraries and books.

We need to have our black board/ committee and black people we need to support it just like we need to build these businesses that’s the only way we’re going to expand! If we keep asking these people for money by keeping them in charge they will always be in control! No you can ride in the back by contributing but you can not control!

Does the Black community tell the Jewish community who to honor and/or not? What if any minority community protests awards for any other?
I’d listen, say *thanks for your input, duly noted* and keep going.

I'd like to point out that there's nothing "absurd" about the view that Angela Davis was/is a communist. She ran twice for the Vice Presidency on the CPUSA ticket. She stood in solidarity with communist parties and movements throughout the world. She has always been proud to identify as a communist. And on a personal level, she has my respect for doing so. She's also a feminist, a teacher, a lesbian, a black woman, and much more. But she would never deny the Marxist aspect of her life and thought.

Roland, why is the non Black Republican Strategist at the table? What value is she bringing to the discussion? She should not be invited to the picnic. We have to be unapologetically Black during this period of Trump. We can’t afford to have anyone that’s not a DOS (Descendant of Slaves) participate in these types of discussions. Does she truly understand our history? Especially the history of the South; and its terrorism against DOSs. On a side note, I’d like you to do a follow up story on the hook worm problem in Alabama. If there’s an alliance between the Black and Jewish community, I’d like to know how they are helping concerning this problem. I want community based, specific involvement/investment from the Jewish community.
