Before progressing further in their Sky Factory world, The Gents take some time to clean up things up a bit.

While the lads are away, the gents will play...Sky Factory. In this Minecraft bonus interstitial, Geoff, Jack, and Ryan take some time to de-ugly the contraptions they've built over the past 10 episodes, gather more resources, and get everything prepped for the next episode. It's like a Let's Build. Just with a little more beans.

To summarise some of the main points of advice in the comments:

General
- NEVER open chance cubes
- Press F7 to see which areas are still dark enough for mobs to spawn and place down more torches
- Light up the area where your graves are. This will make it easier to recover items when you die
- Pick up all of those graves you've left at the bottom of the world - there's some good shit you've had on you
- Double-click your inventory search bars so that they aren't greyed out
- Look into diamond wands

Harvesting mobs and loot
- To upgrade those fans to cover a wider area, you need to craft more upgrades and stack them inside the fan (3 width upgrades will extend the width by 3)
- Don't use those stone spikes - use mob mashers (can have enchantment upgrades) paired with XP vacuums and/or XP obelisks
- Combine loot bags for higher tiers and better loot
- Connect your chickens' nesting pens up to pipes to auto-harvest them

Farming
- Use fertilised dirt (with chicken manure) for the farm to make crops grow faster
- Use a farmer to auto harvest and plant crops in a 9x9 area in front of it (also consider a tinker's construct scythe)
- Use growth accelerator or growth crystals to make crops grow faster
- There's a spare worm in a small chest near the sieves on the upper level
- You can grow ender pearls with ender lily seeds

Storage and power
- You can upgrade transfer nodes to take full stacks of items out at a time
- You can connect your barrels up to pipes to automatically feed dirt into them
- Look into refined storage - allows for huge storage capacities with great accessibility
- Connect power generators to a capacitor and then take power from there
- Look into advanced generators (multiblock steam generator and heat exchanger)

Exploration
- Make a nether portal
- Use the compressed cobblestone (and other ingredients that you already have plenty of) to make a portal to the Deep Dark
- There are a few options for flight that you may want to look into (e.g. jetpacks, supremium armour)

I'm sure there's heaps more that I've missed, but these were the most common/popular suggestions when I wrote this.

I genuinely think this (Sky Factory series) has been a massive upgrade on the Minecraft videos lately, because these guys seem to be enjoying it a hell of a lot more than they were just playing regular old AH Minecraft.

@letsplay ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW THATS IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW! 1. press F7 and it will show you where you need to place torches for monster spawns. 2. make a chest and link it up to your storage drawers with transfer pipes so it will auto sort. 3. for the passive mob fan you want a WIDTH enhancer, not distance. 4. use Ender IO energy cables to connect your power producers and will let you spread out your production so it's not such a cluster fuck. 5. PUT TORCHES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MAP SO YOU CAN GET YOUR STUFF! (I'm halfway through the video if you have done that already). 6. you can make a chest and link it with transfer pipes to your barrels to make dirt automatically (you can also pipe dirt out of barrels the same way) 7. there are upgrades for transfer nodes to draw more items out at a time (stack upgrade). I think that is everything that is relevant at the moment that is simple and easy to achieve in like 10-15 min and will fix a lot of your problems. everyone, please upvote so they see this thanks.

And now we see one of natures rarest sights: Geoff 'lazer' Ramsey being 100% helpful and productive. Some scientists theorise this uncommon event only occurs when all nearby Gavin Free's are removed from the environment. But frankly, we just don't know.

now that their doing mod packs the world of Minecraft has really opened up for them, they were really hating vanilla and u could see that in their later vids as they ran into the limitations of it and just seeing Geoff so damn happy and excited to play is great and its definitely reinvigorated the community. can't wait to see what else they do as they realize there are hundreds of great mods which all add their own little great adventure to the game
