The NBA Cup is AMAZING…

The 2024-25 NBA cup kicked off last night in a big way. Klay Thompson made his return to Golden State facing the Warriors as a member of the Dallas Mavericks, Joel Embiid returned against the New York Knicks, the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks played a hilariously insane game, Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat threw away a game against the Detroit Pistons to the dismay of Jalen Rose, and tons of guys went off. It was a successful first night as the NBA cup continues to build up a lot of buzz. Let's talk about it.

The Mavs (although mostly Luka) seem to have a motivational problem. They start every game slow, throw a bunch of sus shots and then in the fourth they realize they actually need to play to win the game and go on a tear, but then they just have fallen short too much so far. Considering how good they are when they are "on" they should've held good leads through most of their games so far.

steph isn’t carrying as much as you think. yes the last 2 games have been crazy, but this team is deep and no player averages over 30 mins a game. this team is good whether steph is there or not. you need to respect this team more

Draymond being leader for DPOY rn is a terrible take. Honestly shouldn’t even be a question that Dyson Daniel’s is leagues ahead with his deflections and steals. Daniel’s single handedly recovered one of the worst defenses in the NBA

I will say this though: I still don't understand how they introduce something ENTIRELY new in the NBA, and for lack of inspiration it's basically the playoffs with single elimination games SMDH.

HOW did they not take this opportunity to have West and East compete against each other EARLIER than just the FINAL again!!??

Terry Rozier is someone who makes his team worse everywhere he goes. Boston got better as soon as he left and the same is true of Charlotte. He is a chucker and is not good for your team. As a Cavs fan I used to wait til he shot because it was a guaranteed bad shot and often a miss. Scary terry is a myth and I wish him the worst.
