Blue sclera in babies and a blue baby at birth they do not have any correlation. Blue sclera in babies can be do thinning of the sclera of the eye which is the white portion of the eye. So that the blood vessels inside are visible, this can be a sign of a very severe diseases know as collagen disorders like Marfan syndrome and Osteogenesis imperfecta. The baby should be shown to a pediatrician and should be thoroughly investigating for the cause of this blue Sclera. While the blue baby at birth can be a sign of any problems during the labor to do with the baby did not breathe at birth, it can also be a sign of congenital heart disease. So both disease are different and should not be related to one another.
