Andrew Clements has four children that are all avid readers. I asked him to share what him and his wife did to foster a love of reading with their kids.

My book, The Creativity Project is available for pre-order from Bookbug. Anyone who preorders from Bookbug will receive a book signed by 4 of the contributors.

Thanks for watching. Please me know if I can help you in any way.

No, Mr. Clements, I don't think I could remember every single book I've ever read. You will be missed, but your work lives on, and I'm sure your sons will continue reading!

No way! That is so cool. I love Andrew Clements. I love when he said that teachers and librarians make kids feel like the books are their own. One of my favorite things to do is when I get a brand new book I will ask my students who wants to read it first. The interested students raise their hands and then I pick the student that is the most unlikely candidate - depending on a variety of factors. It totally pumps that student up and then the other kids all want to partner read with that student or hope that they will get picked by that student to get the book when the original student is done.

I would not be able to name every book I've ever read. Wish I could, but mostly I can't because there have been so many. That's a good thing.

I doubt I could come up with a proper list of everything I have read, but by-golly it will be fun to try.

This is a gift, Colby. I love Andrew Clements and Frindle, oh my goodness. I met him at NCTE in St. Louis where I can tell you filmed this. I also got a beautiful letter from him once. A treasure and now more. I am so sad that he is gone. At least we have his books. I own almost all and I love that you asked him about turing his sons into readers. Wonderful. Thank you for all you do, Colby.

"Great books travel with you your entire life." So true. So true. So true. Oh how we will miss this wonderful man and much sympathy to his family.

I don't know if I could, but it would certainly bring back wonderful memories!

I think I could come close. My students are always saying...Have you read all these books, Mrs. Culver?

I don't know if I would be able to remember all the books that I've read. I really enjoy going to a bookstore and walking around and just pointing and saying I read that one and I read that one and I've read that one. It's very exciting and it feels familiar when you see books that you've read and enjoyed.
