Context for why it was invaded in 1938:
Catalonia had been independent for two years during the Spanish civil war, it was invaded by fascist Spain and later Invaded by the republicans who liberated them but asked them to join them, Catalonia agreed and sue to lack of other countries's support, they lost the war, causing Catalonia to lose over 50 thousand people in battle and more than 200 thousand in concentrati0n camps.
They were forced to cede Castellon to Valencia and La Franja to Aragon as well as remove Catalan from records and remove most of the historical records of it ever being indepenent.

La Franja de Ponent ja era d’Aragó a la Segona República, i Castelló mai l’he vist dins de Catalunya. L’única forma d’ajuntar els territoris és amb els Països Catalans (no parlaré gaire d’això ja que es molt controvèrsial). Llavors la derrota del 1939 hauria de ser l’any 1714, quan els borbons van treure el sinònim de principat a Catalunya.
