Joe shows you how to install DuraTech DVL Double Wall Stove Pipe.

Insert the adapter or Connector section of pipe into the installed ceiling support box. Install it so the seams are in the back. Insert inner sleeve into outer sleeve (if applicable).
Slide Ring over the bottom of the adapter. Screw the Trim Plate to the support box or wall thimble. Slip top piece of DVL pipe over adapter and screw together, you may need to pre-drill the hole in through the piece of pipe.

Next you will need to install the stove top adapter into the collar on the stove. Place adapter on top of the collar and gently slide down on to the opening with a little pressure, being sure to push down all the way around.

Install the second section of pipe, this will generally be the adjustable piece, on the stove collar or adapter. Note that the bottom of the Pipe Section goes inside the stove collar or appliance adapter. Also, remember to place the seam to the rear of the stove. You can secure the telescoping DVL Pipe with screws via the pre-drilled holes, when the desired length is reached

Now you can connect the bottom stove pipe to the top stove pipe, slide the adjustable pipe up to see if the stove is in the correct position, you may need to shift it slightly to ensure a plum and level install. Install 3 sheet metal screws at each joint to ensure stability.

You will also want to wipe down the stove pipe to remove any glue or oils from your hands, if the fingerprints are left on the pipe they will be very visible after you use the stove pipe. Also, you may have some light smoking the first couple of times you use your wood burning stove.

DuraTech DVL must be installed with at least an 6" clearance to walls and 8" clearence to ceilings. Read all instructions carefully before starting the installation.

Use only authorized DuraVent DVL parts.
Do not mix with single wall stove pipe.
Do not mix with other products or improvise solutions.
Do not install damaged parts.
All wood burning appliances require their own separate connector pipe and chimney system.
DO NOT ENCLOSE DOUBLE-WALL CONNECTOR PIPE or fittings and/or pass
through walls, ceilings, attics or closets.
DVL Pipe cannot be cut..
Consult your local building codes before beginning the installation.

Thank you. I have been looking for a while. Everyone tells you the steps after the stove adapter, loved that you explained well on pieces needed .

This video was one of the most helpful resources I found while installing a Drolet stove with vortex double wall stovepipe. The instructions from Drolet (and Selkirk for the chimney and cathedral ceiling support box) we’re dismal. This video was a lifesaver!

Cannot thank you enough for this video! We needed help because we couldn’t figure out what went where during install. This video walked us through all the pieces. And your staff helped us during the ordering process figuring out what we needed as far as adapters. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Nicely done. Might mention that some local inspectors want to see at least one of the tags for the chimney, and all the other components, so put them in a safe place if you remove them.  You will also need the installation manual for the chimney system, and the stove, so the inspector can make sure it is "installed according to the manufacturer's instructions", as required by NFPA 211 or equivalent code.

this video is super helpful! Well done! The dura brand catalogs do not describe which parts work with each other at all, so this helps clear things up a lot!

Good tip about wiping fingerprints before the first burn. I wouldn't have known that until it was too late. Thanks!

Very good and not rushed. Now if I can only get the bottom section of my old pipe apart to install the new stove at a different height.

thanks for the vid, this duravent branded stuff can be hard to understand how all the pieces connect. My question is how do you secure the chimney pipe to the silver adapter you installed at the bottom of the support box? Is there enough room to get a screw gun in there with metal screws coming from the top?
