In this video, I go into detail about how I painted leaves with negative painting and wet in wet techniques for my watercolor background. The painting is of a cat, and I wanted my background to play a supporting role, so I knew it had to stay very soft and blurred. Want to know how to paint a blurred background in watercolor? Watch and learn!

I will be doing more videos on this subject in the near future, so stay tuned. Also, I have some very exciting art news to announce so that video will be coming soon. Also, I just finished a video about how to finish a watercolor portrait of a man. After I've edited it, I will get that up for you guys ASAP!

I love Mackinac island. I have been to The Grand Hotel, had lunch, took pictures in the lobby. Sat on the beautiful porch and drank a coke. Absolutely gorgeous there. It's actually one of the places that inspired me to start painting again over 25 years ago. Your painting looks amazing so far! Is it done? would love to see it.

hello! I liked and watched the whole video. I think that 10 minute videos are optimal, especially if you had the hardest job in the world and that's being a mother! But if you think an hour long videos are more fun for you to make, that's ok, too. Lots of love!
