It is interesting that in the Eastern Orthodox Church to this day, the family of a dead person has to make a donation to the priest and offer a meal to the extended family 6 days after the death of that person, then repeat the procedure 6 weeks then 6 months later for the soul of the dead. The priest's duty is to mention that dead person's name in their services every day of these 6's. This sounds pretty close to the practices of these Canaanites/Amorites you were talking about.

Think about whether this idea fits into your subject; the Egyptians and other cultures that mummified their dead, or otherwise prepared the body so carefully, did so because they were told by evil gods that they could be cloned in the future and brought back to live again. Perhaps, since their writings say they believed they would come back as gods, the Raphaim hoped these cloned bodies could be occupied by themselves to return to the world again. I just google earthed your serpent mound and it has a Star Fort at each end !! , like you said it is covered with mounds /cairns structures, fascinating also it looks like some really old outlines of what appear to be a settlement of considerable size between it and Gilgal Rephaim.
