i had to keep on resetting my samsung ref by pulling the plug at the back, because the ice maker wasn't working, i was also thinking of buying a new icemaker which will cost at least $100 plus my time of removing and installing the new icemaker, luckily i saw this video, and applied the hairdryer at hot settings to the icemaker, not more than 5 minutes, the icemaker started working again! Thank you for this helpful video!

Thanks for the video, the other simple check is to make sure the air vents at the back of freezers top shelf are not blocked by food. On your video at 2:47, you can see your food on the top shelf is preventing the cold airflow from the back of the freezer to blow over the ice tray. Also best not to bash the cover off, just apply progressive pressure with the palms of your hands to the lower part of the cover and when it ‘clicks’, then continue to apply inward pressure and also apply upwards pressure. Thanks again!

Great video! In my case, the water wasn’t coming out of the ice maker spout. The remedy was emptying the freezer, unplugging, and letting it sit open for about an hour or so (don’t worry about emptying the fridge side - just don’t open the door and it will stay cool enough). If you see water pooled up in the ice tray, you know it was frozen water in the line. Plug it back in, let it cool back down to freezing temp, and it should start making ice! And lastly... don’t block those air vents at the back of the freezer - I’m fairly certain that’s what caused the frozen line.

Good idea here. I recommend to take that top cover off you shouldn't force it up like you did. There are actually tabs on each side so that you pull the bottom of that top cover out a little and then the cover just slides up and out. To put the cover back on slide the top of the cover over the 2 top/side tabs and then push the bottom in. NO FORCING OR HITTING is necessary to remove and replace the top cover. Thanks!

Used this advice once before but had forgotten - excellent guide. One thing I noticed was that I had a fragment of ice cube jamming the 'teeth' - the warm air loosened the fragment and once it popped out all was good.
