From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all—inside the mind.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

I think Fear is the most important and hardworking emotion of all. If it weren't for fear, Riley would be hit by a car in the middle of the road or hurt or dead probably. Fear is all about keeping you safe. So thank you Fear for protecting us. You are a true hero as well as your other family members: Joy, Disgust, Sadness and Anger :D

This movie helped me understand a lot more about my own, personal emotions. Fear kind of dictated my life for the most part so much so that I couldn't really enjoy life like I wanted to. I begin to realize that there is always a reason to feel certain emotions and hope that this realization might help me in the future.

All I can say is, well done, Pixar.

I love Fear! The fact that he is voiced by the guy who does Flint from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is one of the reasons why I love him. Is it me, or am I picturing Fear as Flint Lockwood and Joy as Sam Sparks even though Amy Pohler does Joy and Anna Faris does Sam?
