I like how Athena never tries to square up with Hera, she knows who is in charge and more powerful, instead she plays Hera's game of 'impress me with this hero' and goes along with the little dance thing they do too. Starting with the things Athena herself clearly likes then to what she thinks Hera likes about Zeus, and then a counter to Zeus' biggest flaw as the final play of why this hero should be released.

I just realized that Hera's voice pitch suddenly shots up at the end of "you can do better than that." and in the animatic, that's corresponding with her maidens tightening the cloth around her, almost like it hurts for a moment.

I just came back to this and realized that not only Hera wears horns because she is associated with cows, but also in Spanish if "someone gives you horns" it means they've cheated on you. Something that Zeus has done millions of times💀

Zeus realizing too late it would be super easy to convince Hera to support one of the few Greek heros that's actually loyal to their spouse and not a product of her husband's infidelity.

I love her design! Also I think it's interesting how the cloak wraps around her arms, pinning her arms to her sides. Maybe a rep of how marriage ties two people together? (Or a representation of how she feels trapped in her marriage to always unfaithful Zeus.)

I do love the fact that she looked more grumpy when she said let him go.
Like saying to Athena 'Okay low blow, but fine, I respect the hustle. I'll give my vote for that alone.'

I love how Hera is depicted as fun loving and flamboyant in the musical. Usually we see her as an uptight bitch but that’s probably just because I any time we see her usually has something to do with Zeus being a cheating prick

Love it when Hera is given her due as the most powerful goddess. Iirc, in the Iliad there's a part where she and Artemis square up, and Hera beats her down with her own bow, and I feel like a lot of people miss that because the popular take is a shallow and incredibly modern "scorned and jealous scheming wife" attitude.

Alright, made up my mind, THIS IS THE BEST PORTRAYAL OF HERA!!! It just screams Queen of the universe and oozes attention hoarder which Hera has been known to do when she wants to be heard.

I love how Hera throws the Cloak-thing she's wearing off to do her little dance, then immediately gets redressed once Athena's answere disappoints her.

the contrast between the free looking uncloaked hera and the bitter cloaked hera is just amazing storytelling
