400° Jeez that's high your hair will fry like mad even if you invest in a good heat protector it will still damage the hair so badly and there is more of a chance in getting split ends and fried hair.

there are a few things that actually make you achieve the opposite of straight and shiny hair. first mistake is that you straighten your hair with products you just applied. the hair is kind of wet and you even see steam in the video. when you hear 'sizzle' you do it wrong. you also cause permanent dmg to your hair. also the flat iron shoul not be leading the comb!!!! the comb shoul pass through the hair first and the iron shoul follow. and besides that you are repeating too much. basically you should never pass your iron more than 3 times over your hair. this is deadly to your hair. if it works for you, okay. but if you really want pin straight and shiny healthy hair like you see on models, you should avoid those 3 mistakes. just check out guides from Sarah Potempa or Tim Rogers to achieve that what you tried to show in the video. anyways, nice video.

big mistake to let an iron at over 400 degrees just sit on your hair you're supposed to pass it but never stall...burn and scorch and damage big time

If you pass the comb down the section of hair right in front of the flatiron, It will make your hair pass more evenly through the flatiron. It will straighten way better. I only have to do 1 or 2 passes that way.

The only thing that makes me go YIKES!! Is just that even though you're doing tiny sections in your hair you seem to hold the iron on it for a really long time... I'm just curious to know what the health is with your overall hair? For me I don't try and cut my hair that often, only because I'm just trying to grow it out so then I can cut all the dead ends..I'm not too worried about damage because the majority of the time I just let my hair air dry to about 75-80% and then I will usually section out my hair to curl it in a non-heat fashion.. My hair is very fine, so I'm just nervous to be applying that much heat on it, even though you have a protective spray, I would really appreciate if I could get some tips for maintaining healthy hair :p also sorry for de rant

i think most people do their hair like this...i think the best part of this video is your flat iron love how it comed with the bonus of turnig off in 30 min i also tend to forget to turn it off...but i thought i would see something more intresting to get my hair bone straight like yours!

I do the SAME EXACT THING except i follow the comb with the straightner as i go, so i straighten and comb at the same time(as you comb and then you starighten) and it works perfect!

a good tip is to follow through the whole piece of hair with the comb below the straightner so that you don't pass so much:)

Not to be rude :) But why the temperature so high? I have 3c super duper thick, curly hair and use less heat and my hair gets pin straight. I don't mean this to be offensive I'm just perplexed to why you would use such high heat.
