China launches Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect scheme

The landmark Shenzhen Hong Kong Connect scheme is officially launched today. Ceremonies were held simultaneously at Hong Kong and Shenzhen bourses via video link. The connect between the two capital markets allows investors from both markets to buy and sell shares on either bourse. This is the second link of its kind. A similar link between Shanghai and Hong Kong was launched in 2014.
