Early voting has begun in Wisconsin with 14 polling locations up and running in the Milwaukee area. NBC News’ Shaquille Brewster spoke to voters who shared why it is so important to get to the polls.

As a British citizen watching the US election cycle, it depresses me how cliché it's become to now see long lines at polling stations. Long lines are not something to be proud of, it's a common indicator of voter suppression and the fact it keeps happening in the especially in poor disfranchised US areas, is distressing to see in a modern country.


I wish the US would adopt some of the basic ideals of our fellow European nations and stop actively blocking disfranchised folks from voting. It feels like US states services are intentionally restricted or run so poorly that American citizens think this is what government run services all look like.
