I heard this story told many times but you were different. You got me. to understand. This little girl became the alter ego of an adult woman whose self esteem was shot.

I used to love Sia, till I heard this story awhile back. She forced Maddie to do everything she hated and didn't want to do herself. But honestly the real villian, is that girls parents. Dance moms was straight up child abuse and with her being a minor those parents allowed her to sign that contract with Sia and be exploited again.

The thing we don’t talk about in America is that she had a full blown career on the other side of the world for a decade before we even heard about this. She has always been a ghostwriter as well. She used to perform on stage all of the time but didn’t want to do that here in the US.

I saw the other day that Maddy is in a series on her own and that made me happy. First she was Abby Lee’s main dancer an then Sia’s obsession, poor child. I’m happy she can grow on her own now.

Sia has been in the music industry for over 20 years, and for the majority of that time, she did not cover her face. She also did alot of touring, festivals, did alot of promo, constant interviews etc. Sia has always said from her earliest days that she isnt seeking fame. She doesnt want to be famous, she just wants to put out good music and still have a private life. You can find her talking about this in her earlier interviews, online and on youtube. As she started to become a little bit famous, she began having panic attacks being recognized, approached, stalked. She felt like she was being hunted, with cameras in her face and people screaming and her body would panic. In 2010, struggling with health issues, drug and alcohol addiction, deep depression and being suicidal, Sia decided to retire from singing and performing get her health and life in order, and focus on her songwriting career. She said fame just isnt for her, that she knows singing is what she is good at, but she also needs peace and serenity. And became a hit making songwriter for other famous artists.

OMG . I’ve been saying for atleast 10 ish years that she sounds like Rihanna sometimes. It makes so much sense that diamonds was her work. She knows the instrument ( musically speaking/voice) inside and out

Sia used to show her face when she first came out with Breathe and then she used her anxiety and body dysmorphia as a gimmick, sort of, by wearing wigs covering her face or facing backwards while performing. Sia said this was cool because she could go shopping and everything else without anyone bothering her.

That movie isn't even just a bad portrayal of autism, it's flat out dangerous. There's one or two scenes where the autistic girl starts having a meltdown, and what does her older sister do? RESTRAIN HER. SHE GETS ON TOP HER HER AND RESTRAINS HER??? There have been real life situations where autistic children have been restrained like that and have gotten hurt or even passed away (I believe the most well known case is of a 13-year-old boy named Max Benson). This is so so dangerous and the movie portrays it as the "solution" to the autistic girl's meltdowns. I genuinely believe that the movie should be banned.

There was also more stuff surrounding it. I'm pretty sure Sia promised she would take out those scenes because they were genuinely so dangerous, but I don't think she ever did. Or at least, last time I checked, she didn't do anything about it. I hope that's changed by now, but I doubt it.

What really annoys me is how now that she's been diagnosed as autistic, some people have been defending her and saying that oh she's autistic too and trying to downplay her actions. Her being autistic doesn't change the fact that she portrayed autism in such a horrific and dangerous way in a movie. I cannot express how bad the movie is, it isn't even just the restraining scenes, but that is the worst part of it all.

Also, as an autistic person myself, those scenes are so triggering. They're so scary to me, and it's so disgusting that the movie portrays it in a good light. If someone were to do that to me during a meltdown, it would make it so much worse and wouldn't help at ALL (unlike what the movie wants you to believe).

Bro, that's like making a movie about a gay person's experience and not casting a gay person, or about a women's experience, and not casting a women, the list goes on and on. It was just so weird to me, as a person on the spectrum, to see this kind of mockery. Intended or not. It hurts to see people restrained. Restraining someone on the spectrum having a meltdown can hurt them or kill them. Sia promised to fix it, too! Obviously, she never did. She put Maddy in such a hard spot. I feel so bad for her. Shame on Sia for doing that to the autistic community and Maddy.

She was in Zero 7 for years and she sung just as well. She had been famous in the UK for the longest before Titanium, and she sung the hell out of it.

You missed how Xtina is the one who brought her over to American mainstream to help her write songs for her album Bionic and then everything else happened for Sia. I hate that people don’t talk about how instrumental Christina Aguilera was in making Sia a huge singer songwriter
