Yeah I was paid a raise after I handed in my notice, after mentioning that I never have a review after 12 months.
It actually felt insulting

And then they watch, listen, in through one ear, out through another and do same thing that cost them more and complain that nobody wants to work anymore 😂😂😂

You're 100 % right. But there are still managers out there who consider a 19th century attitude as "best" for the company and therefore the way to go.
They don't understand, that THEY are hurting the company, not the hard working assistant who gives everything until becoming sick. 😳

Someone at my boyfriend's company asked if she could continue to work from home after COVID. She had a disabled parent and it was easier to care for them that way. Company said no, so she quit.

Not only did they have to hire THREE contractors to do what she did, but they've lost hundreds of thousands in grant money because those 3 don't know what they're doing.

All because she wasn't allowed to continue working from home.

I asked my boss about a two weeks holiday - he said; "Are you quitting?" Really, I was confused and had a hard time that is not so. Asking for something is now being considered as a subtle ultimatum to my boss.

For me went like number three (quit managers), then number one (offered pay while handing in notice) and lastly number seven (someone wlse pays what I'm worth). At my new work my net pay is what my gross was at my previous work. Not really the same, I was in IT, working for same company for +13 years, still basically on minimum wage, no personal experience addon pay. Switched to electrician, still do hands on installation but still the payrise was significant

Number three is a big one. When people say I quit XYNB business because they’re disorganized, lack of communication and being short staffed what they’re actually saying is about their direct supervisor and not necessarily the company unless the company has a horrible inner office culture.

Happy to be employed as a manager in a great organisation, with fantastic principles. Hoping I can carry the torch and be to my reports the manager I always wanted to have.

No 11 Don't be a lazy manager relying on a member of staff who continuously reports their co workers for feedback instead engaging with your staff directly, will eventually cost you your job.

The people this affects had a weak sauce rebuttal for each of these

I feel like they should already know but they keep doing these anyways

Couldn't disagree more personally with the quit managers statement. I had an incredible manager in a previous role but i absolutely detested the job itself.

I run in to many way too many that think entry level jobs should pay 6 figures for no real world experience I have the unfortunate experience of working under someone that thought his degree in business made him think he could run a machine shop company lost a lot of experience hands and a lot of contracts because of him . I had a instructor that said all collage shows is you can be trained. want to make money go blue collar jobs. trade school cost a lot less then the feel good degrees that people get at woke schools
