if dzingel turns into a 30 goal scorer, brady tkachuk has a phenomenal first year, chabot has a legitimate breakout year and ceci finally lives up to his potential, the Sens have a shot at decency, but they would have to sign stone duchene and Karlsson before the deadline which means they also have to get off to a great start. chances of everything working out are small lol

One thing is clear. Karlsson can not be a captain after refusing to sign a contract and rumors of an exchange. It is unlikely that now it is a player who should be an example for the team.

Senators can still get a 1st round pick right now if they trade Karlsson. But as I said they need to do it now, as the season starts or if they get closer to the trade deadline, his value will drop because teams are not gonna overpay for UFA Karlsson who is only gonna play for their team for 20 games.

So to get Max value for EK, he needs to be traded and not have Bobby Ryan anchored with his trade. EK right now is worth two first round picks and a decent prospect.
