We were privileged to stay in Giverny and walked his garden in late spring seeing that fabulous wisteria still growing on that bridge he’d painted and are so recognizable from his paintings. His house was modest there but outbuildings adjacent to his home is a huge indoor studio facing his garden. There are huge walls of pairings flour to ceiling, quite moving to see in person. I speak some French but had been able to converse with our driver to the train station. I’ll never forget being given one of the best compliments I’ve ever received. Driver told me I spoke French “perfectmont” I actually think he thought I was French until I started speaking English to my husband. I will never forget that.

"The Theft of Monet's Lost Sunrise".
Two minutes and 15 seconds of the video remaining and they decide to mention the theft.
Actually the theft was discussed for a total of 1 minute 23 seconds. This video should have focused on the theft itself and the recovery process in my opinion. Instead we were proffered a short biographical account of Monet's life.

That young blonde English woman Calandra, always looks like the tv crew just got her out of bed for a few quotes...LMAO ;)

Am I wrong?
Here we see depicted, "Impression, Sunrise" meticulously painted in a studio.
I have always imagined it hurriedly painted out on location!

Beautiful program. Unfortunately dramatic music score.

Weird to see him paint in atelier, thougt one of the most important characteristics of impressionism is to paint en plein air, right at the moment.

Monet is a powerful and dynamic man, but this intense sound track does not fit.
It's the equivalent of playing kpop at the Holocaust Museum.

I would like more from Fiona and the art dealer Mould. They are easy to listen to and follow. The other gentleman is very hard to listen to.

Irritating vocal fry from vacant pretentious "art historians" and stupid music. Having said that, Monet is great. Bring back Waldemar Januszczak, at least he has some humour and colour and human warmth.

Art critics, funny I could not name one.

Apparently they cought Calandra Caldacot, one of the art historians in this video, 10 seconds after she got out of bèd !! Or maybe she overslept. I don't know, but she sure lóóks that way.

*CLICKBAIT* Nothing on the theft until end of film, and then paltry in detail.

What a pity to ruin such a wonderful video with unrelated music that competes with the story instead of supporting it! Please remake it without music if you can't find anything suitable.

This is just a biography. Only 2 minutes spent on the theft.

Misleading title. The painting is not lost. Inappropriately dramatic music. The experts being interviewed seemed to have been pulled out of bed. I swear Charles Darwent is wearing pajamas!

His work has no contrast. I find him supremely overrated.
