I'm British and I know more about US history than these Americans do.

It was big news when the United States got its independence from Korea in 1995. I remember the famous Boston kimchi party, so much kimchi all over the harbour!!!

You would imagine most Americans would know when WW2 ended as apparently they won it singlehandedly or at least that's what they keep telling us ! LOL

As a Pole, i think it's the most horrific and outraging thing that you could say to us that Germany and Poland were allies in a war... I gasped lmao I don't have words for that

One of the things that made Pearl Harbor such a good surprise attack is that the Vietnamese waited until the 80s to launch it, despite the war ending in 1952. No wonder the Germano-Polish didn't see it coming.

"Nazi vs. Germany" is still my favorite. That would made it so much easier to be proud of our country 😄😄
(as germans of course)

I fought and died in the British Army, fighting against the UK in eighteen twelvty eleven. The squirrels were on our side, but those b'stards had badgers, it was a bloodbath, but we pulled through in the end and seals were finally banned from nightclubs ;p

I'm a 52 year old Canadian and we were taught Canadian, American, and world history in school. Even my 8 year old son knows where all the countries are on a map, their respective flags, their alliances, who fought in both world wars. Not to mention who were our allies, the types of military tanks, aircraft, weapons, and uniforms used! Thanks to our educational system, coupled with my knowledge, and him seeking out additional info on youtube on his own, he has a well-rounded grasp of history. I'm really proud of him!

Wow! I studied mostly European and British history but I love to read and a lot of the answers to these questions can be found in reading books and some even in films! Never studied American history but still knew the answers.

Just to clarify. Poland never officially surrendered in WW2. We continued fight and created underground country structures, schools, army.

As I get older, I’m constantly reminded how little I know, and how much there is still to learn. But never as little, or as much as these people.
Pour yourself a very strong coffee, Ryan.

Ryan the horrifying thing is if you asked these people about reality TV 'stars' they'd know everything !! 🤦‍♂

I'm British and have been to the States many times, these people are more common than you think.

I'm finnish and this was painful even for me.. oh, I knew the answers, the painful part is that they didn't know their own history.. those aren't even particularly hard questions..

I am from the UK, but had all my schooling in the US from age 12. I learned all this in US schools, so not sure how these people somehow missed it.

That is terrifying to watch, if we don't know our history, we're prone to repeat it.

Belgian here. My niece spent her last year of high school in the US (Montgomery, Al.), where she should have a language disadvantage, as well as disadvantages in geography and history. Turned out she was second best of her class. (Yes, she's smart, but not gifted.)

As a man who has had an interest in history all his life, bloody hell, this one hurt.
