Supercritical CO2 is more thermally and mechanically efficient then steam or gas cycles. It has twice the density of steam and can run off lower temperatures. The relatively small turbine allows greater mechanical efficiencies as well. Parasitic losses pressurize the CO2 to about 1070 psi and then a bit over 80F makes it supercritical.

I'm thinking of other things... How about marine propulsion? GE claims approaching 50% efficiency.
