Thanks for the guide. At last I can start the F4 from cold. I also found that by assigning two keyboard keys to "Engine starter #1" and "Engine starter #2" the process is noticeably quicker.
Further trials to make the process more realistic led me to the following procedure:
Begin with all switches OFF.
1. Turn on the battery.
2. Move the Left Throttle Lever a quarter way forward.
3. Turn the Left Ignition on.
4. Press down and hold the assigned Left Starter key until all the three gauges for the Left engine come alive.
5. Turn on the Left Generator switch.
6.Pull the Left Throttle Lever to idle.
7. Repeat steps 2 to 6 for the Right engine.

That's it. Have a good flight.

This plane is the reason I moved to Xplane and I am simply amazed. Not only with the phantom itself but also how it flies, how it sounds, and that bring me to the xplane as a sim. The camera features, the flight physics and the lighting, the replay feature, and the weapon (not as comprehensive as TP) but it shoots planes down

Does anyone know how to turn on the compass? For me it's just sideways, it wont move while flying.

I wish there was a better more real life phantom . JASDF, Royal navy/ Air force and of course US . More all time favourite aircraft thank you for this video

i held the starter down for two minutes straight, i also triple checked everything and respawned and tried again multiple times, either they updated the game so it works diferently or im just stupid.

As someone with 1500 hrs of maintenance engine run time on f-4s I just have one comment. At worst you have burnt the aircraft to the ground, lost both csd and generators, burnt up the utility hydraulic pump on the right engine

that´s unrealistic... if you introduce fuel before turning it, you will kill the engine
