Will this LEGO lunchbox be the next must-have collectable?

There’s no denying that this new nostalgic LEGO lunchbox is a stylish way to keep your sandwiches fresh.
The question is, are you better off putting the lunchbox to actual use? Or keeping it on your shelf as a beloved, rare collector’s item?
Available as a LEGO VIP reward for a princely 2,500 VIP points, the retro lunchbox features a classic LEGO advertisement from 1965 – which is why the child on the front is speculating about the year 2065, which is now only forty three years away.
This new lunchbox follows in the footsteps of a gift with purchase lunchbox from 2019 which was a big hit at the time. We’ve also seen collectible coins, which were so desirable they got a second print run, and collectable tin signs, which haven’t gone out of stock quite as quickly.
So will this new lunchbox prove as popular as the coins? Or is there a limit to how many collectable trinkets LEGO fans want to own?
Only time will tell, but if you do want to own it, bear in mind that these things don’t always stay in stock indefinitely.

The original image is from the November 21st, 1965 edition of TV Century 21 comic. A long forgotten comic that featured Thunderbirds, Stingray and Fireball XL5.

I first published this advert on my Instagram account in March 2021 and since then it’s featured on BrickTsars YouTube channel and BrickTrains YouTube channel.

I wonder if LEGO knew this advertisement existed considering it was placed by LEGO U.K. (Wrexham)?

When it comes to collectibles, I far prefer actual LEGO bricks and sets to lunchboxes.
