"30 years" and "Nirvana's Nevermind" just don't sound right in the same sentence. Time sure does fly.

Great cover, but not good sounding release. The Bernie Grundman cut release sounds even much better, save your money.

I have the Pallas pressing and this new reissue sounds terrible compared to the Pallas pressing. I read that this new anniversary reissue was digitally sourced which means they digitized it from the analog master tapes and then put on this new reissue. I also have the Target Exclusive and it also sounds better than this anniversary reissue. This anniversary reissue sounds kind of muddy to me.

I currently have nevermind I believe its the current universal pressing
Im honestly only getting this edition for the the endless nameless 7 inch but the gatefold is just a bonus for me

Nice set. I also don't remember the vinyl. I imagine there wouldn't have been too many pressed because the vast majority of those attracted to the album would have bought cds. I never considered the two different sides: a very interesting observation. Cheers

It's a solid remaster with new things for sure. But if you haven't heard the Bernie grundman cut this new remamster can easily be forgotten about lol.

The early 90's vinyl was on it's last legs, not a lot of pressings were being done and records were hard to find. The major retailers had almost quit carry vinyl and if they did have it, it was limited. I don't know how many original Nverminds were pressed, but I can honestly say I never saw one. Maybe there's some reason this pressing was limited to 46, 000 for the single LP. I'm sure there will be a second pressing. I have a 20th and this one. I think this one has a great sound, and in some ways maybe better.

The reason he was known as Baby Yoda before we knew his name was because Yoda's race hadn't been given a name. Not sure if that is still the case as I have lost interest in anything that comes from Disney. Not that I had much respect for them before they purchased & killed Star Wars.

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

There's nothing you can know that isn't known
Nothing you can see that isn't shown
There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be
It's easy
All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Glad it met your expectations. I don't own the remaster but love the album generally, 'Lounge Act' has always been my favourite track for some reason.

Also, so many salty comments on here. God forbid TJR enjoy the damned thing.

Hi TJR great video glad you like the anniversary issue. It’s strange Mike from the in groove store and YouTube channel said it’s not from the analog but digital and he said it’s terrible sound quality. So I’m glad you have made your video and dispelled that . I like you just got the vinyl edition and I’m happy with it. Kind regards joe

I have been on a serious quest with "Nevermind." I have the 1991 German Press vinyl, 2011 Remaster vinyl from the 20th Anniversary edition, the 24K Gold CD version album, the first press 1991 CD and the 2011 remaster CD. I am thinking of getting this 30th edition. I like the clean soft sound the the 1991 German press (clear, but lack of kick). I enjoy the crystal clarity of the 24K CD album (not the warmest/powerful version). I really enjoy the 2011 Aniv. Edition as it is warm (yet a slight dulling in the drum symbols). I suppose all provide a different sound for a different mood. I really wish they had released a SACD disc for this album; yet it may sound like the 24K version. For equipment, I am using a Sony TazH1es DAC with HIFIMAN HE1000V2 planar magnetic and also the Audeze LCD4 planar magnetic headphones with the Audirvana software for critical listening. For casual listening, I am using a Bowers & Wilkins eight speaker stereo system with a vintage Sony D5 portable walk-man for the CD's and 24k CD.

I have an original vinyl pressing. Definitely not a gatefold

This is digital. Sourced from does not mean cut from. If you want a nice copy get the ORG pressing.

Occam's razor: Simpler explanations are more likely to be correct; avoid unnecessary assumptions.

Hanlon's razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I’m willing to go with the label’s stupidity in shorting product, however in dealing with slick marketing departments, it’s entirely possible this album shortage was a public relations stunt to get people to buy the more expensive box set.

I prefer the original cd 1991 version. I understand now why kids from the 1960’s prefer their original vinyl copies. The album was meant for cd as originally released during CD’s heyday. I feel the album is too compressed regarding loudness and bass. Kurt’s voice on certain songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit or Lithium aren’t as powerful on this reissue. Go back to your original 1991 cd copy and it’s more about Kurt’s powerful voice over the music. Here it’s more about the music and less about Kurt’s voice. Again, I need to listen to this a few more times. That being said it’s better than the awful 20th anniversary edition. Listen to the In Utero remaster (they got it right). I feel this remaster loses the 90’s unique sound and that makes me sad. I don’t prefer most albums from the 90’s that are remastered. Ironically the Foo Fighters Colour and the Shape from 1997 was remastered properly in 2007 (less is more, think making the music clearer and not adding compression aka loudness, bass, etc.). Compare and contrast and I think you’ll agree this loses some of its magic…
