Pairing the Kidney: Selection and Management for Dual Transplants

Selecting patients to receive a kidney transplant in addition to a liver or heart transplant can be challenging. This selection process depends in part on the potential reversibility of renal dysfunction with the extrarenal transplant alone. Many factors influence renal recovery, but firm evidence-based recommendations remain open for debate.
