Gran Turismo 7 Is Finally Out And...

Gran Turismo 7 is now out and I had a chance to check out the first hour of the game and give some of my immediate thoughts as I was experience the game for the first time.

Ray tracing visual only applies to non gameplay scenarios like photo, scapes, and viewing cars

Other than that, gameplay is identical on all modes nothing changes

I just started really getting into it and, yes, it's incredible. The best GT since GT4. It feels the most complete and robust in its package. GT Sport and even to be honest GT5 and 6 just felt like PD had gotten a bit complacent. This feels like a REAL effort to reinvigorate the series. Fully satisfied here. Love it.

The Framerate mode and Raytracing mode don't affect gameplay. Just replays (No RT at 60 or RT at 30) and photo mode.

I picked it up on the PS5 this weekend. It's my first Grand Turismo game, and really my first racing game since the 8-bit era. I've really been into cars and driving for a number of years now, and even though I don't play games very much anymore, I was interested in trying this out since I think I'd appreciate it more now than when I was younger and not so much into cars. Only had a chance to play it for a few hours so far, but I'm enjoying my time with it, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with it.

Frame rate is always prioritized during races, raytracing only is active during replays at 30fps, menus and picture mode (which always is raytracing)

Dude, there is not even any raytracing mode on during gameplay, it's only in replays, so the gameplay should still be unaffected. Goes to show that many people can't even tell the difference.

I bought Dirt 5 when the PS5 launched it has really scenic visuals and not much more extra stuff than just buying better cars. Even has decent dual sense support. Something to consider for those who are not professional racing / car enthusiasts

Personally I absolutely love the game, for me it's easy the best GT in years maybe even since the first one. Once you're a few hours in, it won't let go! 😁😁

I love that the first car you win is a Maxda Demio, which was the same in the first GT game

I have never spent so much time reading in a racing game, but I am enjoying every minute of it. The game is truly a love letter to the automobile, and it's history.

Forza horizon 5 and GT 7 being out now is a time to be alive for racing game fans. Too bad NFS isn't as good as it used to be.

The haptics on traction in turns does feel really good at adding a "weighted" feeling. So far I am really liking GT7, and I am just going through it slowly. Soon i'll start building my main car, but wanted to enjoy it how the developers wanted at first.

The dual sense features are more subtle to be more e-sport friendly. I've been curious on how playstation can use dual sense features in creative ways for the competitive scene. So glad to see this game bring back all the classic features!!

As far I know, there is no difference between performance and fidelity mode in racing gameplay in terms of FPS and graphics. It does only affect replays, garage, photo mode etc., where more Raytracing is enabled and FPS can go down to 30.

This is my first GT game, being a Forza guy (and others, but mainly Forza) for the most part. After a couple hours, I am really enjoying it. I got sucked into that license mode and had to complete all 10 of those class B license tests on gold before I could move on. They are really tight as far as hitting every move juuuust right to get the gold on them. After about a half hour of retry after retry my wife stated that this was the most boring game ever and went to bed. But I finally got that gold on the final test and both reward cars so... worth it. Also really digging the soundtrack.

actually, there were already microtransactions in GT6 and gifting cars to friends was removed. Sad, the feature was really cool.

I can live without the microtransactions but the real elephant in the room is the always online requirement, as I've said several times. It killed my hype for the game, so I'll wait until it gets a massive discount.
