This did not fix it for me, but it was a step in the right direction. I realized that I got this problem because I had just changed monitors, and these monitors run at different resolutions. So, instead of changing the "adapter" keyword in regedit, I went to the "resheight" and "reswidth" parameters, and changed the numbers - in DECIMAL - to 768 and 1366 (1366x768 resolution) instead of my old values of 900 and 1440 (1440x900).

1. In the folder in which the game is installed, rename the Movies folder, for example, _Movies_.
2. Run the game. The game should start. Quit the game.
3. Rename the _Movies_ folder back to Movies.
4. Launch the game.
It really helped when for several days I was tormented I could not start the game. And with the game, drivers and software, hardware was all fine

You saved my 2 hours of gameplay in custom campaign. I saw bunch of warcraft forums saying it can't be helped and once warcraft is updated you have to start over the mission yada yada and bunch of them did.

But this fixed it for me <3

This is just one of the fixes you could try before giving up hope of ever playing wc3 again, it does not fix everyone's error because you might have something else that you have to fix too, such as display driver update, or a reinstallation of wc3. For me this fix worked to fix patch 1.26a of warcraft 3 that I use for a private server. the value was not set to 1 when I first opened it though, but changing it to 0 did not break the patch 1.30 of the current wc3.

Cannot run Warcraft with legit keys

The value of my adapter was already set to 0, and it doesn't work. I tried to set it to 1 and see if that helped, it didn't. I changed the value back to 0, and still no results :(
Any surgestions?

I went to Regedit-current user-software-blizzard entertainment-warcraft III. Warcraft III doesn't expand so i cant go to video! Help :(
