I dont buy your points:
1) holloway did in fact get hurt by Justin in the last fight, first kd of his career though
2) the fact that max koed justin in 155 doesn’t translate to feather necessarily

This guy is GSP’s coach? Gsp is a very well rounded fighter. He should know ilia is very well rounded too.

I've been following Max since he joined the UFC and I picked him to beat Gaethje but this Topuria is a whole other animal. I think we're gonna see Max getting KO'ed for the first time.

I disagree with the "one way to wini". The Josh Emmett fight showed he can go 5 rounds, throwing high output the entire time. He also has the threat of wrestling. Sure max can deal with it, but it's more for him to keep in his mind than say against Justin Gaethje.

I think there are multiple paths for both guys. Ilia has only one win in a 5 round decision, but that doesn't mean he can't hurt Max several times throughout the fight. Maybe theres a grappling hole that Ilia can exploit, although Max hasnt been submitted since his first UFC in 2012. Also his boxing is probably on par with Dustin's, so this might give Max some significant trouble.

At the same time, just because Max doesn't have a lot of Ko finishes doesn't mean he can't consistently hurt Ilia or Ko him. He seems to have some pretty decent power at 145. He's hurt plenty of people in that weight class. And maybe Ilia would succumb to the attrition. We've seen that happen too many times to count.

Its false that he is never been knocked down, Gaethje knocked him down and he´s been hurt before.
Everything you said about Max applies to Volk and still got knocked out cold.

Ilia is dangerous, he got mad power and boxing looks crisp. But I get you Coach, objectively looking at stats and his fighting style compared to Max's.. it seems this is going to be a slightly favorable match up for Max. Ilia has very specific conditions he needs to impose on Max to win via other ways than ko. Max's 7.7 SLpm is standout indicator of Max' consistent ability to steer the fight w/in his preferred range and pace despite the defense knowing and being prepped to contain his style of striking (his main weapon). For Ilia to win via other ways he will need to make Max fight different than usual and there are many components to Max's game.

The range Ilia's best at, where he has best chances to ko Max.. is one we've seen Max either negate or survive from. Probably why he's trying to shame Max into an early close range slugfest or any close range exchanges? Is that a clue into Ilia's possible apprehension on his own ability to confine Max in one position long enough to use his best weapon? We will have to see if Max bites the trap.. but as you say Coach, I also doubt Max will indulge Ilia.

That's Ilia's biggest challenge here.. dictating the fighting range. Ik he can also grapple to submit Max but that's a gamble that'll take energy from his punching arms if he fails multiple times.. so I somewhat agree w/. But he can still resort to this way especially in the later rounds if it goes beyond rd. 3.. it's worth to try it then.

Holloway has the experience of losing to volk 3 times. Topuria has the experience of ending everything Volk used to be. Ill take Topurias experience by a mile.

Poirier submitted Max back in the day..Topuria could win by KO, he could win by decision, exactly like he did over Emmett(boxing fundamentals), he could win by submission..Max has the record for most strikes landed, and he is up there with most strikes absorbed..I think that Max could win, if he stays on his bike, stays on the outside, stick and move, lots of kicks, stays out of the pocket..Max didn't stay out of the pocket fighting Gaethje..Gaethje dropped Max, but didn't really hurt him bad..Both the Korean Zombie and Gaethje landed good shots on Max, but Max has that granite chin..Topuria's defense is light years better than Gaethje..Going to be a great fight..We don't know how these styles will mesh in the cage. That's why we will be watching..

I think ilia got this, he’s a different beast altogether. I think if he clips Max it’s all over.

Max's significant strikes landed is really high with 3378 and #2 is Sean Strickland with 2069. I think Max will win by decision.

Ilia takes it. He’s too clean. His technique is exceptional and he’s way more well rounded. I love max but I think he gets a little sloppy as the rounds go on and will get cracked.

I think Ilia goes to the body... breaks a rib. Max will catch him, but he's gonna get hurt and put away. The liver can only take so much damage... he's gonna look for it and find it.

I don't know, I could be wrong, but we forget how much beating Ilia can endure look fight with Herbert. I am definitely not the expert here, but I would definitely give Topuria much more chance than Firas.
